Chapter 9: Closing the Interviewer
During the first interview, it is more appropriate to ask the manager
questions that are pertinent to him or her and the goals he or she
has for the district, not global questions regarding the company.
Global questions are best saved for the second interview.
You must close with direct questions that request action on the
part of the interviewer. Indirect, soft, or assumptive closes rarely
carry the impact that is necessary at this venue of the interview.
Contrary to many books written on interviewing and some popular
beliefs, this is not the time to ask for the job.
Persistence and perseverance are required but over-assertiveness
or aggressiveness may cost you dearly.
